How a Sticky Bra Works

A sticky bra, also called an adhesive or stick-on bra, has no band and no straps. Each cup is a shaped piece of medical-grade silicone with an adhesive lining that grips your skin. You put the cups on one at a time, then hook the clasp between them. That clasp pulls the cups toward the center, which lifts your breasts and pushes them together. It's the difference between a sticky bra and a pair of nipple covers: covers hide, the bra shapes.

Because nothing wraps around your ribs, there's nothing to show through an open back and nothing to slide down under a strapless neckline.

Choosing Your Size

The Sticky Bra comes in three sizes: Small, Medium and Large. Use the size guide on the product page to find yours. Since there's no band, fit is all about the cup. It should cover your breast with the edges lying flat, not perched on top of the breast tissue. If you're between two sizes, the larger one is usually the safer pick.

Shopping for a fuller bust or a plus-size body? Body size doesn't limit a sticky bra the way it limits a banded bra; cup fit does. If you want more hold for a long night, pair the bra with a few strips of Boob Tape.

Putting It On and Making It Last

Skin prep is most of the battle. Your chest should be clean, dry and free of lotion, oil, deodorant and body glitter. Apply in a cool room before you do your hair and makeup, since steam and sweat weaken the grip. Peel off the film, place one cup at a time angled slightly outward, press it smooth, then hook the clasp. Get dressed last.

After you wear it, wash the cups with mild soap and water, let them air dry, and put the film back on. With that routine, our Sticky Bra lasts around 40 wears.

The Honest Downsides

The clasp sits low in the center, so an ultra-deep plunge can show it; tape is the better tool there. In a dress with extreme side cut-outs, the edge of a cup can peek out. Heavy sweat challenges any adhesive, ours included. And if a regular or strapless bra already works with your outfit, wear it. A sticky bra earns its place when the back is open or the strapless keeps slipping.

Don't apply it to sunburned, broken or irritated skin. If your skin is sensitive, do a patch test first. After breast surgery, wait until your surgeon says adhesives are OK.
