What Nipple Covers Are For

A nipple cover sits over the nipple and areola and smooths them flat, so nothing shows through a T-shirt, a slip dress, a ribbed knit or a sheer blouse. That's the whole job: coverage and a smooth line. Covers don't lift or shape, so if you want either, you'll need a sticky bra or tape on top. You'll also see them called pasties or petals.

Ours are medical-grade silicone with thin, tapered edges, and they're made to be washed and worn again, not thrown away after one night.

Adhesive or Non-Adhesive?

The Original Sticky Boobs are ultra-thin covers with an adhesive back. They hold on their own, so they work under loose tops, open-sided tanks and anything that doesn't touch your chest. With care, they last around 50 wears.

Our Non-Adhesive Nipple Covers are the same silicone covers with no glue. The natural tack of the silicone, plus light pressure from a snug top or dress, keeps them in place. Choose them for sensitive skin or all-day wear, as long as the fabric actually touches your chest. Under a loose, floaty top with no contact, they can shift.

Choosing a Shade and Size

Match the shade to your skin, not your clothes. We make Light, Tan and Dark, and the one closest to your skin tone is the one that disappears under white and pale fabrics. Our shade-matching guide walks through it, and if you have a deeper skin tone, read nipple covers for dark skin tones.

Sizes run by cup: A–B, B–C and C–D+. Pick the size that fully covers your areola, so the edge lands on smooth skin.

Wearing and Washing Them

Put covers on clean, dry skin with no lotion or oil. Center each one, then press from the middle outward so the edges lie flat; our guide to keeping the edges from showing has more tips. After wearing, wash them with mild soap and water, let them air dry, and store them clean and covered.

When Covers Aren't Enough

If your outfit needs your bust held up, like a strapless dress on a fuller chest or an open back where you want lift, covers alone won't do it. That's a job for a sticky bra or boob tape. If a regular bra works fine with what you're wearing, wear the bra. And skip adhesive covers on sunburned, broken or irritated skin; that's when the Non-Adhesive pair, or a patch test first, makes sense.

Nipple Covers: common questions

What is the point of a nipple cover?

It hides your nipples and smooths the area under thin, clingy or sheer fabric, so you can go braless without anything showing. Covers give coverage only; they don't lift or shape.

What can I use instead of nipple covers?

A bralette, a camisole or a top with a built-in shelf bra will also keep your nipples from showing. Silicone covers are the better pick when the outfit has no room for those, like an open back, low armholes, thin straps or a sheer layer.

Do non-adhesive nipple covers stay on?

Yes, when a snug garment presses lightly on them. The natural tack of the silicone keeps them from sliding. Under a loose top that doesn't touch your chest, choose adhesive covers instead.

Is it OK to wear nipple covers every day?

Yes, plenty of people wear them daily. Give your skin a break overnight, wash the covers after each wear, and if adhesive ever bothers your skin, switch to non-adhesive covers for everyday use.

What are the best nipple covers for dark skin?

The ones closest to your own skin tone, not your clothes. We make Light, Tan and Dark, and most deeper skin tones match Dark or Tan, which keeps the cover from showing as a pale circle under white fabric.
